What are the better anti-spam software out there? I am looking for an anti-spam software that blocks spam whilst I am surfing the net. I already have Ad-Aware but its Ad-Watch requires subscription (I think) and I can't be sure it's the best there is. Any recommendations at all (prefably ones which doesn't require subscription)? Anti Spam Software? Is there any anti-spam software I can purchase that will allow me to choose which words I want to block in the subject titles of incoming emails - eg - Visa, Mastercard, Meds, Pharmacy, etc etc etc...........? I am cheesed off with the number of these emails that I am now receiving each day. I already have AVG, Zone Alarm, SuperAntiSpyware, Spybot, Windows Advanced Care and Windows Defender. I update and run them all on a regular basis. I used to have Ccleaner but it caused problems so I had to uninstall it. myCleanerPC named anti spam software has come from somewhere in my PC. is it a genuine software of some repute when i was trying to search for a torrent using mozilla firefox torrent searching toolbar, suddenly there was a spate of viruses and adware reported by my Norton Antivirus. later the norton anti virus got disabled and this "MyCleanerPc.com" named adware came up. now my Norton Anti virus is asking for activation, where as it was an activated product running very fine for last one year. i dont even have its key after so many days. please help. and how should i get rid of this new 'forced guest'.

Free Anti-spam softwares - where??? I bought Norton Antivirus 2007 a few months ago and installed in my HP XP Notebook. In testing TuneUp Utilities 2007 recently, I am advised that there is no Anti-Spam software in my computer. To get the Anti-Spam facilities, I have to pay for such. My questions are: (1) Is it true that Norton does not have Anti-spam function? (2) Where can I get a FREE anti-spam software? (3) Can I install this Anti-spam software and have them running parallel in my computer? (4) If not, then what must I do? Thanks.
Can someone recommend the best anti-spam approach and email service/software? I was a user of Mailshell's paid consumer service, which they are discontinuing at the end of this month. The feature i liked best was the disposable email addresses. Being able to just bounce all email from an address once it had been sold was the most effective to me. I never saw any spam and just turned off addresses once spammers got hold of addresses from sometimes legitimate well meaning companies. I never had to worry about false positives or asking people i wanted to correspond with to register. Maybe the detection technology has improved over the years? I am aware of four technologies; filters, blacklists, registrations, and disposable addresses. Anyone want to recommend a best replacement for me? I'm willing to pay for the service. Every time I use my Spam software my email shuts down. Why? A recent phenomenon. If I use my Norton Anti-spam software to permanently put the spam on my stop list my Internet Express shuts down. Every single time. Error messages are generated but with no resulting replies. I update my antivirus daily and run it at least every other day. I've even run Spy Bot with nothing unusual showing up. Any suggestions?
Hardware Firewall, Software Firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam - is it enough? I have a Linksys firewall which terminates my cable connection. The wireless feature of the firewall is disabled as I have a wired 100 Mb network throughout the house. There are four PC's in the house. Each is running Adaware, AVG Anti-virus, and Kerio personal firewall. Can someone still break into the network and garner executive privelidges on any of my PC's? How would I further prevent against this? My NAS is a 250 GB Buffalo Technology Linkstation. It runs LINUX, however, has a UI which provides little to no capability to tweak security settings. Should I worry about this? I think I have covered the bases but am still worried about HTTP traffic compromising security - should I be concerned about this and what would I do to prevent it?

Best anti-virus solution for combating LAN viruses? In our Institute, there are around 60 computers connected through LAN. Internet connectivity is obtained through VSAT (satellite link). We are having a mail server (linux), squid proxy server (Unix), Sun server (firewall) and a web server (Windows). Most of the times, internet connectivity is very poor. There was no problem found at the ISP end. We believe that LAN viruses are major contributors for slow browsing. In this regard, I wish to know which are the best anti-virus solutions available for our system in the following cases: 1. At server end (linux) - which anti-virus solution and on which server (mail, proxy or SUN), it should be installed? 2. At user end (Windows) - which anti-virus software will be more effective? Do we also need to install any anti-spam software in the mail (and other) server(s)?
Its hard to catch all SPAM? Groupshield 6 is installed on our Comms Svr running Exchange 2000 Standard Edition. This is the ISA Server and the e-mail gateway. This server forwards E-mail to 3 other Exchange Servers at three separate geographical sites within the local domain. I have spent hours trying to get the best out of the Spam Killer plug in to Groupshield but it is still letting huge amounts of SPAM through (it is trapping a lot also). Im not certain if I need to install additional copies of groupshield on each of our other three exchange servers in the separate OU’s but I have a feeling Groupshield and SPAM killer only work on the gateway server? Any advice? Maybe there is better Anti SPAM software? A lot of SPAM is being caught but mostly its the Viagra and Penis Enlargement (!) type and not other sorts offering fake watches, business opportunities etc! I can import a blacklist.txt file but im not sure of the layout nor where to download a decent one from. Im hoping there is a web site one!

Anti-bot for Frontpage 2003? I am a shadetree webmaster for our Homeowners Association. I use Frontpage 2003 and have had a decent experience with it until recently. I use the website to post a lot of information, including tutoring information for children. Recently we have been bombarded with porn spam and the like in our forums, which we use to post information to help local kids with their homework. I do not want the kids to lose a valuable resource such as this, but I do not want them to see some of the links that get posted on there either. What can we do? I'd hate to have to take the forum down. I've seen some anti-bot spam software, but have no clue how to place it in Frontpage. Any and all help is appreciated.
Anti virus software?? Cannot find?? I have just upgraded my antivirus software (mcafee total plus), and when installing, it is telling me that i need to remove/uninstall 'ca etrust antivirus' otherwise i won't be able to have spam protection, anti virus or privacy. My laptop has been slowing down a lot and which anti-spam,virus,spywares are the best? Hi everyone, I have been using my laptop for quite a while(1 year) and my laptop starts to slow down 4 months ago. Now i am seriously irritated by it and i really feel like doing something to it now.. I check my task manager and realise that i have about 5 "IEXPLORE" and 1 "SVCHOST" that takes up most of the momory. Can i ask how do i reduce their comsumption or is there a way to keep the numbers down? Also, i always have this feeling that my computer may be filled with virus even though i am using norton 360. I have Netscape dial up Vista, not connected to Windows Mail should I connect Windows Mail or just keep as is? I couldn't hook up Windows Mail, is it because I have Netscape or do I have the POP 3 & SMTP wrong. What is the POP3 & SMTP for Netscape? Is my laptop ruined? My husband got a virus on our computer and he went to Wal Mart and bought the Defender Pro anti spam CD and went home and tried to install it w/out reading the instructions (MEN!) well, it says you are supposed to uninstall any other anti spam software you may have on your PC first, which he did NOT do. Now the computer is running really slow and I am trying to get to the part where I can uninstall all anti spam software and start over with the new one, but it won't get there before completly shutting down. Is it ruined or is there something else I can try? How do I do a format of the hard disk? Ok, I have restarted in safe mode and I am in add/remove programs and when I try to remove any program, I get a message saying "The windows Installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running windows in safe mode or if the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance". NOW WHAT?

Someone competent enough? I don't know what's gone wrong with my PC. The problem is whenever I check the "Show hidden files" option in the Folder Options menu, the hidden files never show and when I go back to re-check "Show hidden files" it has automatically been changed back to "Do not show hidden files". It happens as many times as I change to "Show hidden files". I don't know why the option changes back to "Do no show hidden files". I don't know what is causing this. One thing I must add is I saw my "autoexec.bat" file. It was EMPTY!. Now you would wonder how could I see that file when I cannot see the hidden files. The thing is I changed the attribute of this file to -h in command prompt. If any more information is required do ask me. Please do not tell any solution that requires an anti-virus or anti-spyware or anti-spam software. I want a solution that does not require any security softwares and I cannot even format my drive since there r some hidden files that I need to save b4 formatting.
